NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 00-58-GA Notice Issued: March 29, 2001 William J. Runco, P-34990, Dearborn, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #3.
1. Reprimand; 2. Effective March 29, 2001. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(f)(5) which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. Respondent offered a plea of no contest to the charges arising from a real estate transaction occurring in 1986, as set forth in paragraph 28(f) of Count One which states, ARespondent never advised the [clients] to obtain independent legal counsel concerning the transaction,@ and paragraphs 34, 35, 37 and 38 of Count Two of Formal Complaint 00-58-GA. Respondent further pled no contest that his conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(1). The parties also agreed to dismiss the remaining allegations in Formal Complaint 00-58-GA without prejudice.
Based upon the stipulation of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $65.78.
