NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent)

Case No. 00-27-GA Notice Issued: December 27, 2000 Valerie L. Yaeger, P-43619, Sterling Heights, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #108.

1. Suspension - 180 Days; 2. Effective December 20, 2000. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5). The stipulation was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. The respondent offered a plea of no contest to the charges of misconduct in Formal Complaint 00-27-GA, to wit: In three immigration matters, respondent made false statements to her clients regarding the status of their matters; and failed to keep her clients informed of the status of their matters. In an immigration employment matter, respondent failed to timely file her client=s documents and failed to inform her client of the delay.

Respondent=s conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(b) and (c); 1.3; 1.4; 4.1; and 8.4(a)-(c). The parties further stipulated that respondent=s license to practice law should be suspended for 180 days. Costs were assessed in the amount of $356.49.
