1. Dismissal. 2. Effective January 19, 2001. The Grievance Administrator filed Formal Complaint 97-83-GA charging that respondent had committed professional misconduct, specifically: In a civil litigation matter, respondent allegedly made false statements in a supplemental answer to interrogatories. Respondent was also alleged to have made false or reckless statements regarding the judge presiding over the civil matter. Respondent=s conduct was alleged to have violated MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 3.4(d); 4.1; 8.2(a); and 8.4(a)-(c).
On November 17, 1997, the hearing panel granted respondent=s motion for summary disposition and dismissed the formal complaint. On November 24, 1997, the Grievance Administrator filed a petition for review and the Attorney Discipline Board reversed the panel=s summary disposition and remanded the matter to the hearing panel. On December 28, 2000, the hearing panel dismissed the formal complaint with prejudice. No costs were assessed against the respondent.
