NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (Pending Appeal)
Case No. 00-125-GA Notice Issued: November 27, 2001 Robert G. Vaughan, P-29814, Burton, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Genesee County Hearing Panel #5.
1. Suspension - 30 Months; 2. Effective November 10, 2000. 1 The hearing panel found that respondent had committed professional misconduct, specifically: That respondent, acting as a conservator for a minor, misappropriated client monies; failed to answer the request for investigation served by the Grievance Administrator; and made false statements to the Attorney Grievance Commission during the course of its investigation. Respondent's conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4), (6) and (7); MCR 9.113(A) and (B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15(a)-(c); 8.1(a) and (b) and 8.4(a)-(c).
The hearing panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law be suspended for 30 months. The Grievance Administrator filed a timely petition for review which is pending before the Attorney Discipline Board. Costs were assessed in the amount of $425.12.
