NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 00-55-GA Issued: October 24, 2000 Peter J. Johnson, P-15539, St. Joseph, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Berrien County Hearing Panel.
1. Reprimand; 2. Effective October 24, 2000. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for a consent order of discipline in accordance with MCR 9.115(f)(5) which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. Respondent offered a plea of no contest to the charges of misconduct contained in Count Three of Formal Complaint 00-55-GA, to wit: In 1995, respondent deposited a $5,000.00 retainer into his general business account instead of a client trust account. Respondent=s conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15(a) and (d); and 8.4(a) and (c). The parties agreed that respondent should be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $139.04.
