NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION Case Nos. 99-191-GA; 00-021-FA Issued: July 13, 2000 Robert G. Vaughan, P-29814, Burton, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #56.

1)Suspension - 119 Days; 2)Effective July 13, 2000. Respondent was retained and paid $350.00 represent complainant in a probate matter. The panel found that respondent failed to file an appearance, any pleadings, or take any action on his client=s behalf; failed to respond to requests from his client regarding the status of the matter; failed to keep client informed of the status; abandoned the representation without notice to the client; failed to refund the unearned portion of the fee; and failed to answer two requests for investigation served by the Attorney Grievance Commission. The panel concluded that respondent=s conduct violated MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a); 1.5(a); 1.15(b); 1.16(d); 3.2; 8.1(b) and 8.4(a) and (c).

The panel ordered that respondent be suspended from the practice of law for a period of 119 days. The panel further ordered respondent to make restitution in the amount of $350.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $271.41.
