NOTICE OF SUSPENSION AND RESTITUTION Case Nos. 00-11-GA; 00-26-FA Issued: June 20, 2000 Raymond G.D. Huuskonen, P-36834, Mt. Clemens, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #101.

1. Suspension - 2 Years 2. Effective January 18, 2000. Respondent Raymond G. D. Huuskonen failed to answer the consolidated complaints and failed to appear at the scheduled hearing before the hearing panel. The panel found, by default, that the respondent failed to carry out his obligations to his client in an appeal of a criminal conviction; failed to communicate with his client regarding the status of the appeal; failed to return the unearned portion of the retainer fee and failed to return the client's file; failed to answer a request for investigation and failed to answer a formal complaint. Respondent's conduct was deemed to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1) - (4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a); 1.4(b); 3.2; 8.1(b) and 8.4(a)-(c).

The hearing panel ordered the suspension of respondent's license to practice law for two years commencing January 18, 2000, the effective date of a 180 day suspension ordered in an earlier case (Grievance Administrator v Raymond G.D. Huuskonen, Case Nos. 99-86-GA; 99-103-FA; 99-142-GA; and 99-162-FA). Respondent was ordered to make restitution to the complainant in the amount of $1,200.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $215.85.
