NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 98-203-GA Issued: February 18, 2000 Eugene F. Williams, P-22344, Sterling Heights, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board affirming order of suspension by Tri-County Hearing Panel #108.

1) Suspension - 180 Days; 2) Effective July 24, 1999. The hearing panel found by a preponderance of the evidence that respondent had committed professional misconduct, specifically: Respondent induced his client to perform a sexual act while visiting her in the attorney visiting room of the Macomb County Jail. The hearing panel concluded that respondent's conduct violated MCR 9.104(1 )-(4) and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.7(b); 6.5(a); and 8.4(a) and (c).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in the State of Michigan be suspended for 180 days. Respondent filed a petition seeking review. The suspension ordered by the hearing panel was not stayed pending review. On January 18, 2000, the Attorney Discipline Board entered an order affirming the hearing panel's order. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,028.13.
