NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case No. 97-294-GA Issued: April 7, 2000 Rosanne C. Less, P-41983, Allen Park, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board, affirming an order of Tri-County Hearing Panel #18.
1. Reprimand. 2. Effective June 9, 1999. Respondent admitted that she received a proposed judgment in a divorce case which had been prepared and signed by opposing counsel, that she made certain amendments and/or corrections to the judgment and that she signed and submitted the judgment to the court for signature without properly notifying opposing counsel of the corrections and without advising the court that the corrections had been inserted. The
hearing panel found that respondent's conduct was in violation of MCR 9.104(1) and (4) and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4(a) and (c). The panel made a further factual finding that respondent did not intend to mislead, make false statements or fail to
disclose any matter required to be disclosed. The hearing panel noted a lack of aggravating factors and a lack of prior discipline in reaching its conclusion to impose a
reprimand.
The Grievance Administrator petitioned for review. On December 29, 1999, the Attorney Discipline Board entered an order affirming the hearing panel order of reprimand. The Grievance Administrator's motion for reconsideration was denied by the Board in an order entered March 9, 2000. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,162.73.
