1) Reprimand; 2) Effective January 27, 1999. The complainants retained respondent to collect on a judgment entered in their favor. The panel found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that respondent failed to maintain reasonable communications with the complainants or answer their numerous telephone messages. Respondent admitted that she failed to answer two Requests for Investigation and failed to timely answer the Formal Complaints.
The panel concluded that respondent's conduct violated MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A) and (B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.4; 8.1(b); and 8.4(a) and (c).
The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $3,408.40.
