NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 02-20-JC Notice Issued: July 10, 2002 Roy A. Ashmall, P-30127, Ypsilanti, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Washtenaw County Hearing Panel #5.

1. Suspension - 120 Days; 2. Effective October 7, 1998. 1 On February 4, 2000, respondent was convicted in Washtenaw County 14B District Court on two counts of Animals - Abandoning/Cruelty, misdemeanors, in violation of MCL 750.50. On March 12, 2002, the Grievance Administrator filed a certified copy of the Judgment of Conviction and a formal complaint alleging that respondent failed to file an answer to a Request for Investigation served by the Grievance Administrator. Based upon respondent's conviction and default, the hearing panel found that respondent had committed the alleged misconduct, in violation of MCL 750.50; MCR 9.104(A)(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A); MCR 9.113(B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.1(b); and 8.4(a) and (c).

The hearing panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law be suspended for 120 days, to run concurrently with the three year suspension ordered in Grievance Administrator v Roy A. Ashmall, Case No. 98-51-GA. Costs were assessed in the amount of $191.93.
