NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent)
Case No. 99-2-GA John W. Brusstar, P-36920, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #31.
1) Suspension - 179 Days; 2) Effective October 13, 1998. Respondent was appointed to represent five separate defendants in the appeal of a criminal matters. Respondent entered a plea of no contest to allegations that he failed to file any briefs or pleadings and further failed to advise the five defendants that no action would be taken on their behalf, in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a) and (b); and 8.4(a) and (c).
The parties stipulated that respondent be suspended from the practice of law for 179 days retroactive to October 13, 1998. Costs were assessed in the amount of $71.73.
