1) Reprimand; 2) Effective September 25, 1998.1. Respondent was retained to represent the complainant in an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission matter, and was paid a $1,000 retainer. The panel found that respondent neglected and abandoned the matter, in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a) and (b); 1.16(d); 3.2; and 8.4(a) and (c).
The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded and make restitution to the complainant in the amount of $1,000. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,223.44. 1. Respondent has also been automatically suspended from the practice of law in Michigan pursuant to MCR 9.120(B)(1) since March 19, 1997.
