NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent)

Case Nos. 98-43-GA; 98-64-FA W. Frederick Moore, P-33341, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #8.

1) Suspension - Sixty (60) Days; 2) Effective September 25, 1998. While an associate with a law firm, respondent was assigned to handle a possible automobile negligence claim, and filed suit in Wayne County Circuit Court. He pled no contest to allegations that he neglected the matter by failing to appear for two status conferences, resulting in two separate dismissals; failing to take any further action on his client's behalf after a motion to reinstate, filed after the second dismissal, was denied; and failing to notify his client of the dismissals. Respondent also failed to answer the Formal Complaints.

Based on respondent's plea of no contest, the panel concluded that his conduct violated MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (7); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4; 3.2; 8.1(b) and 8.4(a) and (c).

The parties stipulated that respondent be suspended from the practice of law in Michigan for 60 days. Costs were assessed in the amount of $233.54.
