NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent)
Case No. 98-47-GA Richard L. Banta, II, P-39845, River Rouge, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #35.
1) Suspension - 181 Days; 2) Effective September 3, 1998. Respondent entered a plea of no contest to allegations that he burned personal property and a building in River Rouge, Michigan, and entered the building without obtaining the owner's permission or consent. The panel found that respondent's conduct violated MCR 9.104(1)-(5); Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4(a)-(c); and MCL 750.73 and 750.115.
Based on the stipulation of the parties, the panel ordered that respondent be suspended from the practice of law in Michigan for a period of 181 days.
Costs were assessed in the amount of $226.55.
