1) Reprimand; 2) Effective August 14, 1998. Respondent was retained by the complainants to defend their company in a matter in 19th District Court. The panel found, by default, that respondent neglected the matter. The panel also found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that respondent failed to timely answer Formal Complaint 98-31-GA.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (7); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4; 3.2; 3.4(c); 8.1(b) and 8.4(a) and (c).
The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $363.27.
