NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case No. 97-37-GA John J. Goldpaugh, P-30758, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #23.

1) Reprimand; 2) Effective May 6, 1998. The respondent employed the complainant, another attorney, as an independent contractor to represent one of two defendants he was retained to represent on appeal of Second Degree Murder convictions. The panel found that respondent failed to promptly notify the complainant when he received funds in which she had an interest, and failed to promptly deliver to the complainant the funds to which she was entitled.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(2)-(4) and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4(b).

The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,474.12.
