1) Reprimand; 2) Effective April 28, 1998. Respondent appeared as the attorney for a defendant charged with driving while his license was suspended. Respondent admitted that he stated to the judge that he had transported the defendant to the court hearing, and that his statement was false and was known by him to be false at the time it was made. Respondent admitted that his conduct violated MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 3.3(a)(1) and (2); and 8.4(a)-(c).

The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded, with conditions including providing 50 hours of pro bono legal representation under the supervision of the judge in the underlying matter, and successful completion of the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination. Costs were assessed in the amount of $381.31.

The Grievance Administrator filed a petition for review seeking increased discipline. In an order issued October 21, 1998, the Board affirmed the panel's order in all respects.
