1) Reprimand; 2) Effective January 9, 1998. The panel originally dismissed the Formal Complaint. The Grievance Administrator filed a petition for review. On review, the Attorney Discipline Board held that the hearing panel erred in dismissing the charge that respondent's lack of communication with his client constituted a violation of Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.4(a) and (b), and remanded the matter to the panel for a hearing to determine the appropriate discipline.
On remand, the panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded, with conditions including taking the State Bar of Michigan Law Office Management course and monitoring of his law practice for six months. Costs were assessed in the amount of $896.46.
