NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case Nos. 93-47-GA; 94-157-GA Frederick A. Patmon, P-18695, Detroit, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board affirming Tri-County Hearing Panel #31's Order of Suspension.

1) Suspension - 180 Days; 2) Effective October 8, 1997. Respondent was suspended from the practice of law in Michigan from May 31, 1991 to November 25, 1991.1. The panel found that, in two separate matters, respondent failed to notify opposing counsel and tribunals of that suspension and continued to practice law and to hold himself out as an attorney after the effective date of the suspension. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4), (8) and (9); MCR 9.119; MCL 600.916; MSA 27A.916, and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 3.4(c); 5.5(a); and 8.4(a)-(c). On October 7, 1996, the panel entered an order directing that respondent be suspended from the practice of law in Michigan for 180 days.

Respondent filed a petition for review and petition for stay of discipline. The petition for stay of discipline was denied by the Attorney Discipline Board but granted by the Michigan Supreme Court. On April 24, 1997, the Board entered an order affirming the panel's order of suspension. Respondent filed a motion for reconsideration, which was denied by the Board in an order entered June 19, 1997. Respondent filed an application for leave to appeal, which was denied by the Supreme Court in an order entered September 16, 1997. The suspension is deemed to be effective October 8, 1997.

Costs were assessed in the amount of $4166.13. 1. File No. DP 66/85. See Notice of Suspension dated June 6, 1991 and Notice of Automatic Reinstatement dated December 6, 1991.
