NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 97-26-GA William F. Klintworth, P-30993, Traverse City, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Grand Traverse County Hearing Panel.

1) Suspension - One (1) Year; 2) Effective August 7, 1997. Respondent represented a defendant in a federal criminal appellate matter in the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. The panel found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that respondent neglected the matter; made misrepresentations to the court and opposing counsel; and made statements in his answer to the Request for Investigation which were false and were known by him to have been false at the time they were made.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (6); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(a)-(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 3.2; 3.3(a)(1); 3.4(c); 8.1(a); and 8.4(a)-(c).

The panel ordered that respondent be suspended from the practice of law for one year. Costs were assessed in the amount of $733.90.

NOTE: Respondent has been continuously suspended from the practice of law in Michigan since April 19, 1997.
