NOTICE OF REVOCATION AND RESTITUTION Case Nos. 97-106-GA; 97-133-FA Susan Laughlin, P-42133, Sterling Heights and Madison Heights, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #102.

1) Revocation; 2) Effective July 31, 1997. Respondent was retained by three separate complainants in bankruptcy matters. The panel found, by default, that respondent neglected and abandoned the matters; failed to refund unearned fees totalling of $1,825.00; failed to answer the Requests for Investigation; and failed to answer the Formal Complaints. Respondent also failed to appear at the disciplinary hearing.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A) and (B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(a) and (c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(a); 1.5(a); 1.15(b); 1.16(d); 3.2; 8.1(b); and 8.4(a) and (c).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law be revoked effective July 31, 1997, the date of the disciplinary hearing, and that she make restitution to the complainant's in the total of $1,825.00. Costs were assessed in the amount of $331.43.1. 1. Respondent was also suspended from the practice of law in Michigan for 180 days effective June 4, 1997, and for failure to pay her annual dues to the State Bar of Michigan effective January 28, 1997.
