NOTICE OF REVOCATIONS (By Consent)
Case Nos. 97-210-AI; 98-001-JC; 98-189-JC Jeffrey J. Abood, P-43262, Lansing, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Ingham County Hearing Panel #5.
1) Two Separate, Concurrent Revocations; 2) Effective August 27, 1997. On August 27, 1997, respondent was convicted, by guilty plea, of Willful Failure to File IRS Form 8300, in violation of 26 USC 7203. (U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan, Case No. 97-CR-71.) In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent was automatically suspended from the practice of law in Michigan effective August 27, 1997, the date of the felony conviction.
On June 30, 1998, respondent was convicted of Possession with Intent to Deliver Less than 50 Grams of the Controlled Substance Cocaine, a felony, in violation of MCL 333.7401(2)(A)(IV). (30th Judicial Circuit Court, Case No. 96- 71256-FH.)
Based on the stipulation of the parties, the panel entered two separate but concurrent Orders of Revocation, one for each Judgment of Conviction. The panel ordered that the revocations be deemed effective August 27, 1997, the effective date of the Automatic Interim Suspension pursuant to MCR 9.120(B)(1) issued in Case No. 97-210-AI.
