NOTICE OF SUSPENSION WITH CONDITIONS Case No. 97-203-AI; 97-255-JC Daniel J. McNeil, P-33002, Lansing, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Ingham County Hearing Panel #7.
1) Suspension - Thirty (30) Months; 2) Effective August 22, 1997. On August 22, 1997, respondent was convicted, by guilty plea, of Possession of Cocaine, a felony, in violation of MCL 333.7403(2) (A)(5) (Ingham County Circuit Court, Case Number 96- 71037-FH). He was also convicted, by guilty plea, of Disorderly/Disturbing the Peace, a misdemeanor, in violation of MCR 750.167 (65-2 District Court, Case No. 96-2986-FY). In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent was automatically suspended from the practice of law in Michigan effective August 22, 1997, the date of the felony conviction. Upon the filing of the Judgment of Conviction the Attorney Discipline Board entered an order directing respondent to show cause why a final order of discipline should not be entered.
Following a hearing conducted pursuant to the Order to Show Cause, the panel entered an order suspending respondent from the practice of law for a period of 30 months effective August 22, 1997, with conditions relevant to the established misconduct. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1,311.52.
