NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 95-133-GA Louis G. Basso, Jr., P-10529, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #72.
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective April 16, 1997. Respondent was appointed personal representative of a decedent's estate in Oakland County Probate Court. He pled no contest to allegations that he failed to timely administer and close the estate; failed to timely pay the inheritance taxes on the estate's behalf, causing penalties and interest to accrue; and failed to provide accountings to the decedent's widow or other interested parties within a reasonable time after he was requested to do so.
Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4; 3.2; and 8.4(a) and (c); and Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the then- applicable Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1), (5) and (6); DR 6-101(A)(3); and DR 7-101(A)(1)-(3).
The parties stipulated that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $1284.57.
