NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)

Case No. 95-80-GA Hon. G. Michael Hocking, P-26951, Charlotte, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Kent County Hearing Panel #3.

1) Reprimand; 2) Effective September 17, 1996. The parties stipulated to the Opinion of the Michigan Supreme Court, dated March 22, 1996, in the Matter of Hon. G. Michael Hocking, Supreme Court Case No. 99750 (Judicial Tenure Commission Formal Complaint No. 48), to provide a factual basis for the following no contest plea: Respondent, a Judge of the 56th Judicial Circuit Court, pled no contest to allegations that he displayed an abrupt and confrontational demeanor and was rude and discourteous to an attorney appearing before him, in violation of MCR 9.104(1) and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 8.4(a)and(c).

The parties further stipulated that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $52.09.
