Case Nos. 96-48-GA; 96-72-FA William R. Moore, P-31906, Brighton, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Washtenaw County Hearing Panel #1.

1) Suspension - 179 days; 2) Effective September 15, 1996. Respondent represented a woman in various legal matters, including estate planning, for approximately ten years prior to her death. The woman executed a Last Will and Testament prepared for her by respondent, which designated respondent as the personal representative and trustee of her estate. Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.7(b); 1.8(a)(1)-(3)and(c); and 8.4(a)-(c).

The parties stipulated that respondent be suspended from the practice of law in Michigan for a period of 179 days effective September 15, 1996; that he attend a law office management course; and that he "shall not engage in any self-dealing with any future clients and will at all times in the future comply with MRPC 1.8." Costs were assessed in the amount of $222.00.
