NOTICE OF REVOCATION Case No. 95-252-GA William A. Basse, P-29168, Troy, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #55.

1) Revocation; 2) Effective August 27, 1996. Respondent was retained to represent the complainant in a personal injury matter. The panel found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that the respondent failed to file suit within the statute of limitations; failed to advise the complainant of the statute of limitations or the expiration of same; abandoned the representation; failed to keep in reasonable communication with the complainant; made continuous statements to the complainant which were false and were known by him to have been false at the time they were made; failed to release the client file to the complainant upon request; and failed to answer the Request for Investigation. Respondent also failed to appear at the disciplinary hearings.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and (7); MCR 9.113(A) and (B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(a)-(c), 1.2(a), 1.3, 1.4, 1.15(b), 1.16(d), 8.1(b), and 8.4(a)-(c).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law be revoked effective August 27, 1996, the date of the aggravation/ mitigation hearing. Costs were assessed in the amount of $600.15.

NOTE: Respondent has been continuously suspended from the practice of law in Michigan since June 21, 1995. His license to practice law was also revoked effective September 28, 1996 and January 31, 1997.
