NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 95-143-GA John R. Beason, P-34095, Grand Rapids, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Kent County Hearing Panel #4.
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective July 12, 1996. Respondent was retained to represent parents seeking damages for the death of their son, who died in an automobile accident. Those parents are the complainants in this matter. Respondent pled no contest to allegations that he undertook the representation of clients with conflicting interests to those of the complainants; failed to disclose the conflict to the complainants; and failed to withdraw from the litigation due to the conflicting interests of his clients. Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.7(b) and 8.4(a)and(c). Costs were assessed in the amount of $160.84.
