NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case Nos. 95-48-GA; 95-77-FA Anthony E. Walton, P-36628, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #81.
1) Suspension - sixty (60) days; 2) Effective July 25, 1996. A man forwarded legal documents to respondent requesting his representation in a real estate matter. Having received no response from respondent for two months, the man requested the return of his documents. The panel found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that respondent failed to return the man's documents upon request or to communicate with him concerning the request. The panel also found, by default, that respondent failed to answer two Requests for Investigation. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.104(1)-(4)and(7); MCR 9.113(A)and(B)(2); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.4; 1.15(b); 8.1(b); and 8.4(a)and(c).
The panel ordered that respondent be suspended from the practice of law in Michigan for sixty days and return all files and documents to the above-mentioned complainant. Costs were assessed in the amount of $637.96.
