1) Reprimand; 2) Effective May 31, 1996. Respondent was appointed to represent a defendant in a criminal appeal. The panel found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that respondent failed to timely file an appellate brief on his client's behalf and failed to keep his client reasonably informed concerning the status of the matter. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4(a)and(b); and 3.2. Costs were assessed in the amount of $497.73.
