1) Suspension - eighteen (18) months; 2) Effective May 7, 1996. The panel found, by default, that respondent engaged in improper business transactions with a client; engaged in a conflict of interest regarding a former client; and failed to answer the Formal Complaints. Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4)and(7); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.7(b); 1.8(a)(1)-(3); 1.9(a); 8.1(b); and 8.4(a)-(c). Costs were assessed in the amount of $799.60.
