NOTICE OF RECIPROCAL SUSPENSION Case No. 97-18-RD James S. Brooks, P-11247, Agana, Guam, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #17.

1) Suspension - Three (3) Years; 2) Effective April 15, 1996. Respondent was suspended from the practice of law by the Superior Court of the Territory of Guam for a period of three years, by consent, effective April 15, 1996. The Guam suspension was based on allegations that respondent misappropriated $300,000 from clients and converted it to his own personal use, in violation of Rule 1.15 of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct.

The Grievance Administrator filed a Petition for Order to Show Cause seeking reciprocal discipline in Michigan. The Attorney Discipline Board thereafter entered an Order to Show Cause directing respondent to show cause why an order of reciprocal discipline should not be entered. In his response to the Order to Show Cause, respondent agreed to the entry of an order of reciprocal discipline. On April 7, 1997, the panel entered an Order of Reciprocal Suspension for three years commencing April 15, 1996.

Costs were assessed in the amount of $95.98.
