NOTICE OF REVOCATION AND RESTITUTION Case Nos. 96-81-GA; 96-106-FA Ruth E. Johnson, P-39361, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #13.

1) Revocation; 2) Effective January 24, 1996 Respondent was retained to file a motion to set aside a Default Order of Filiation and was paid a $500 retainer fee. The panel found, by default, that respondent failed to file an appearance; failed to file or pursue a motion to set aside the default judgment; failed to refund any portion of the $500 retainer fee; failed to adequately communicate with her clients; failed to advise her clients that she had changed her office location; failed to answer the Request for Investigation; and failed to answer the Formal Complaints. Respondent also failed to appear at the disciplinary hearing.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.104(1)-(4)and(7); MCR 9.113(A)and(B)(2); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4; 1.16(d); 3.2; 8.1(b) and 8.4(a)-(c).

The panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be revoked effective January 24, 1996, to run concurrently with the Order of Revocation entered in Case No. 95- 223-GA, and that she make restitution in the amount of $500 plus interest. Costs were assessed in the amount of $161.56.

NOTE: Respondent has been continuously suspended from the practice of law in Michigan since June 13, 1995.
