NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case Nos. 95-247-GA; 95-270-FA Thomas R. Everett, P-23848, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #22.
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective March 12, 1996. The panel found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that on June 7, 1995, respondent delivered five packs of cigarettes and a pack of matches to a client incarcerated at the Macomb County Jail, in violation of the rules and regulations of that facility; knowingly made a false statement in his answer to the Request for Investigation regarding his ignorance of the jail's no-smoking policy; and failed to timely answer the Formal Complaint.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4),(6)and(7); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.2(c); 8.1(a)and(b); and 8.4(a)-(c).
Costs were assessed in the amount of $324.87.
