NOTICE OF REPRIMAND AND PROBATION Case No. 95-4-GA Ronnie M. Strong, P-34545, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #15.

1) Reprimand and Probation - nine (9) months; 2) Effective August 23, 1995. Respondent was retained to institute a medical malpractice action concerning the wrongful death of his client's son and to commence probate proceedings. The panel found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that respondent neglected the matter; failed advise his client of the dismissal of the litigation; failed to respond to his client's inquiries or to otherwise keep in reasonable communication with her; abandoned the representation without notice to his client and without taking reasonable steps to protect her interests; and failed to comply with his client's request for the return of her records.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(a)-(c); 1.3; 1.4; 1.15(b); 1.16(d); 3.2; and 8.4(a)and(c).

The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded and placed on probation for nine months. Conditions of the probation include supervision of respondent's law practice by a monitor, attending a certified law office management course, and completing a Fundamentals of Michigan Practice seminar. Costs were assessed in the amount of $954.46.
