NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 94-198-GA Ronald M. Anstandig, P-30277, Southfield, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #63.
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective July 14, 1995. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the hearing panel and the Attorney Grievance Commission.
Respondent was retained to represent a client in a pending application for benefits under the Workers' Disability Act. He pled no contest to allegations that he failed to properly investigate the claim or to conduct discovery in advancement of the claim; and withdrew the pending claim without the full knowledge and consent of his client.
Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(b); 3.2; and 8.4(a)and(c).
Costs were assessed in the amount of $58.07.
