NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 95-110-JC James F. Schouman, P-20057, Dearborn, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #16.

1) Suspension - three (3) years; 2) Effective March 8, 1995. Respondent was convicted in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, by guilty plea, of Making and Subscribing a False Income Tax Return in violation of 26 USC 7206(1), a felony. In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent was automatically suspended from the practice of law in Michigan effective December 14, 1994, the date of the felony conviction.

Pursuant to MCR 9.120(B)(3), the Attorney Discipline Board ordered respondent to show cause why a final order of discipline should not be entered. Following a hearing to determine the appropriate discipline, the panel entered an order suspending respondent from the practice of law for three years commencing March 8, 1995, the date of sentencing, or until respondent has satisfied the probationary period imposed by the Federal Department of Corrections, whichever is longer. Costs were assessed in the amount of $223.75.
