NOTICE OF REPRIMAND WITH CONDITIONS (By Consent) Case No. 94-161-GA; 94-169-GA

1) Reprimand; 2) Effective February 16, 1995. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the hearing panel and the Attorney Grievance Commission.
Respondent represented a person charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor/Unlawful Blood Alcohol Level. He pled no contest to allegations that, without advance notice to his client, he had another attorney who was not a member of his firm stand in for him at a pretrial; and failed to appear for his client's sentencing.
Respondent represented a person charged with Driving While License Suspended. He pled no contest to allegations that he failed to appear for a pretrial; failed to appear for the jury selection; and failed to appear for the rescheduled jury selection.
Respondent was retained to represent a person charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor. He pled no contest to allegations that he failed to provide his client with timely notice of hearings; failed to appear at a pretrial hearing; failed to appear at two hearings; and failed to keep in reasonable communication with his client.
Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(a)- (c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4; 3.2; 3.4(c); and 8.4(a)and(c).
The parties stipulated that respondent be reprimanded with conditions regarding law office management. Costs were assessed in the amount of $52.77.
