AMENDED NOTICE OF SUSPENSION

Case No. 93-172-JC Howard R. Belkin, P-37367, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #7.

1) Suspension - two and one-half (22) years; 2) Effective July 7, 1994. On July 1, 1993, respondent was convicted in the Recorder's Court for the City of Detroit, by guilty plea, of two misdemeanor counts of Attempt to File False Medicaid Claims in violation of MCL 750.92(3). Respondent was sentenced to probation by that court.

Upon the filing of the Judgment of Conviction, the Attorney Discipline Board ordered respondent to show cause why a final order of discipline should not be entered. Following show cause proceedings held in accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(3), the panel ordered that respondent's license to practice law in Michigan be suspended for a period of two and one-half years. The hearing panel noted that respondent's conduct was related to his professional practice as a dentist, not as an attorney, and that restitution had been made.

Costs were assessed in the amount of $377.01.
