NOTICE OF SUSPENSION (By Consent)
Case No. 92-244-GA Daniel S. Weiss, P-31075, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #19.
1) Suspension - Two and One-Half Years; 2) Effective December 9, 1993. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator executed a Stipulation for Consent Order of Discipline which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and a hearing panel in accordance with MCR 9.115(F)(5).
The respondent offered a plea of no contest to a charge that in July 1988 he made a cash contribution to a public official in violation of MCL 169.241(1), Sec. 41 of the Campaign Finance Act which prohibits cash contributions of more than $20.00.
The respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4) and Canon 1 of the then applicable Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1),(4)-(6). The stipulation included the respondent's agreement to release the sum of $2,000 to the Client Protection Fund of the State Bar of Michigan.
Costs were assessed in the amount of $517.40.
