NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case Nos. 93-50-GA; 93-68-FA Gregory K. Jackson, P-24638, Southfield, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #63.

1) Reprimand; 2) Effective November 25, 1993. Respondent failed to answer the formal complaints, but appeared at the hearings held in Farmington Hills on May 25 and September 22, 1993. Respondent's default was entered, and the panel determined that the default established the allegations of the formal complaint.

Respondent was retained to institute bankruptcy proceedings, but failed to promptly file a petition for bankruptcy; failed to appear for a hearing; and failed to keep his client reasonably informed concerning the status of the matter.

Respondent was retained to defend the same client in a civil action, but failed to file an answer to the lawsuit, causing a default judgment to be entered; failed to take any timely action to stay the judgment pending the bankruptcy hearing, causing his client's wages to be garnished; and failed to keep his client reasonably informed concerning the status of the matter.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4)and(7); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.4; 3.2; 8.1(b); and 8.4(a)and(c).

Costs were assessed in the amount of $378.80.
