1) Reprimand; 2) Effective October 7, 1993. Respondent was retained to represent the plaintiff in a personal injury action. The hearing panel found that respondent failed to promptly notify his client of the mediation evaluation; accepted the mediation award on his client's behalf without her knowledge and consent; and, failed to keep his client reasonably informed concerning the status of the matter.
The panel found respondent's conduct to be in violation of MCR 9.104(4) and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.4(a).
Costs were assessed in the amount of $506.61.
