NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 93-75-GA Elliot D. Margolis, P-28078, Royal Oak, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #12.
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective November 10, 1993. The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the hearing panel and the Attorney Grievance Commission.
Respondent was appointed to represent a defendant in post- conviction proceedings. He pled no contest to charges that he failed to properly supervise the attorney to whom respondent assigned the file and failed to take reasonable remedial action after the defendant filed complaints with the Attorney Grievance Commission and the Michigan Assigned Appellate Counsel System.
Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(c); 5.1(a)and(b); and 8.4(a)and(c).
Costs were assessed in the amount of $54.39.
