NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (By Consent)
Case No. 93-46-GA Leonard M. Mazor, P-31020, Southfield, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #68.
1) Reprimand; 2) Effective October 5, 1993.
The respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a stipulation for consent order of discipline pursuant to MCR 9.115(F)(5), which was approved by the hearing panel and the Attorney Grievance Commission.
Respondent was retained to represent a client in an action against her former employer. He pled nolo contendere to allegations that he failed to file a response to the defendant's Motion for Summary Disposition; failed to appear for the hearing on the Motion for Summary Disposition; and, failed to keep his client reasonably informed concerning the status of her matter in that he failed to advise her of the Motion for Summary disposition, failed to inform her that he did not respond to the motion and had failed to appear for the related hearing, and failed to advise her of the court's Order Granting Summary Disposition and Dismissing Complaint.
Respondent's conduct was alleged to be in violation of MCR 9.104(1)-(4); and Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1(c); 1.3; 1.3; 3.2; and 8.4(a)and(c).
Costs were assessed in the amount of $219.69.
