NOTICE OF TRANSFER TO INACTIVE STATUS PURSUANT TO MCR 9.121(8)

Case Nos. 18-112-JC; 18-113-GA

Notice Issued: April 4, 2019

Christine Ann Waichunas, P 59141, Holt, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline 80ard Washtenaw County Hearing Panel #2.

Transfer to Inactive Status, Effective March 7, 2019.

The Grievance Administrator filed a consolidated Judgment of Conviction, Case No. 18-112-JC, and Formal Complaint, Case No. 18-113-GA, which charged that respondent committed acts of professional misconduct warranting discipline. 8ased on respondent's own admissions and the evidence presented at hearing, the panel unanimously determined that respondent is incapacitated from continuing to practice law as defined in MCR 9.121(8)(3).

Therefore, the panel concluded, in accordance with MCR 9.121 (8)(3), that respondent be transferred to involuntary inactive status for an indefinite period and until further order of the 80ard. The panel also determined that the transfer of respondent's law license to inactive status would require that the underlying judgment of conviction and formal complaint, be held in abeyance pursuant to MCR 9.121(8)(4). The issue of appropriate discipline to impose for respondent's misdemeanor convictions should be addressed if, and when, respondent's license to practice law is reinstated pursuant to MCR 9.121(E).

On March 7, 2019, Washtenaw County Hearing Panel #2 issued an order transferring respondent's license to inactive status pursuant to MCR 9.121 (8) for an indefinite period and until further order of the 80ard.
