NOTICE OF REPRIMAND (With Conditions)

Case Nos. 92-280-GA; 92-300-FA Frederick C. Bishop, P-29870, Jackson, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Washtenaw County Hearing Panel #2.

1) Reprimand; 2) Effective April 30, 1993. Respondent was retained to prosecute a worker's compensation claim, and filed an Application for Mediation or Hearing. Respondent admitted that he failed to conduct the necessary medical depositions and other discovery necessary to support the workers' compensation claim; withdrew the claim without the consent or knowledge of his client; failed for a period of one year to refile the petition although he assured his client he would; and made false statements to his client.

Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104 (1-4); the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(a-c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 1.4(a); 8.4(a-c). The panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded with conditions relevant to the established misconduct for a period of 18 months. Costs were assessed in the amount of $210.15.
