1) Suspension - 120 days; 2) Effective March 6, 1993. Respondent was retained to represent the defendants in a pending civil action. The hearing panel found that respondent failed to advise his clients as to the status of the action; failed to file a mediation summary; failed to file a witness list; failed to advise his clients of a mediation date; failed to notify his clients of a trial date; and made false statements to the court regarding the matter.
Respondent's conduct was found to be in violation of MCR 9.104 (1-4); and Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the then-applicable Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1,4-6); DR 6-101(A)(3); DR 7-101(A)(1-3). Costs were assessed in the amount of $948.40.
