NOTICE OF SUSPENSION Case No. 93-27-JC Gary W. Lange, P-28723, Lansing, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board affirming a hearing panel order of suspension.
1) Suspension - six months; 2) Effective January 26, 1993. Respondent pled guilty on January 26, 1993 in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan to filing a false income tax return for the calendar year 1986, a felony, in violation of 26 USC 7206(1). In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent's license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended effective January 26, 1993, the date of the felony conviction. Upon the filing of the judgment of conviction by the Grievance Administrator, the Attorney Discipline Board entered an order directing the respondent to show cause why a final order of discipline should not be entered.
On July 8, 1993, Ingham County Hearing Panel #5 entered an order suspending respondent's license for a period of six months, effective January 26, 1993.
The Grievance Administrator and the respondent each filed a petition for review seeking modification of the hearing panel order of suspension. On December 7, 1993, the Attorney Discipline Board affirmed the hearing panel order of suspension.
Costs were assessed in the total amount of $470.38.
