NOTICE OF REPRIMAND Case No. 91-20-GA Jesse W. Reed, Jr., P23863, Detroit, Michigan, by Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #14.

1) Reprimand; 2) Effective July 21, 1992. Respondent failed to answer the formal complaint and failed to appear at the hearing held in Detroit on July 29, 1991. Respondent's default was entered and the panel determined that the default established the allegations of the formal complaint.

Respondent neglected nine appointed post-judgment criminal matters and failed to answer the request for investigation in violation of MCR 9.104(1-4,7); MCR 9.103(C); MCR 9.113(B)(2); the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct, 1.1(c); 1.2(a); 1.3; 8.1(b); 8.4(a,c); and Canons 1, 6 and 7 of the then-applicable Code of Professional Responsibility, DR 1-102(A)(1,5,6); DR 6-101(A)(3); DR 7-101(A)(1-3).

On October 18, 1991, the panel entered an order suspending respondent's license for 120 days. Respondent filed a motion for rehearing before the panel, which was granted. On May 5, 1992, a mitigation/aggravation hearing was held. In light of the mitigating evidence presented, the hearing panel reduced discipline to a reprimand. Costs were assessed in the amount of $239.47.
